A Feltrinelli bookshop at an altitude of 3466: Europe’s highest bookshop opens on Mont Blanc

60 square meters at an altitude of 3,466 meters and a literary proposal addressed to those who love walking in the woods, surrounded by nature, to those who are always looking for stimuli and points of view, to those who challenge their own limits and to those who feel the need to escape (and find themselves) in open solitudes. The images are of the new library in the Punta Helbronner’s station of the Rotating Funicular Skyway Mont Blanc.
On the Mont Blanc, inside the Punta Helbronner station– The SkyWay, the third floor of the Skyway Monte Biancodi Funivie Montebianco S.p.a.: here Feltrinelli has chosen to inaugurate the highest bookshop in Europe.

376 titles for a total of 1726 books, divided into thematic routes: from the high-altitude bestseller section to illustrated mountain and photographic books, from those dedicated to Val d’Aosta itineraries to mountain fiction, from food and wine books to discover the cuisine of Valle d ‘Aosta to children’s books.

The historian and writer Alessandro Vanoli inaugurates the matinee program with the writer, on Saturday 20 July at 12.00, coming out with the new book Strade perdute (Feltrinelli) dedicated to the multiple routes that man has travelled and that mark his roots, from the Nile, to the Mediterranean routes, from the Silk Road, to Route 66, between famous streets and others still unknown. Saturday, July 27, again at 12 o’clock it is the time of the presentation in readings by Stelle minor (Feltrinelli) by Mattia Signorini, on the reconstruction of his present starting from that of his own past, even more if threatening and unresolved.
There is already the highest winery in Europe at Punta Helbronner, with the Cave du Mont Blanc, which produces sparkling wine with the Metodo Classico (same as the Champenoise Méthode, but it is called Classico in Italy)- with great quality and very small bubbles. Just be careful because alcohol goes quicker to your head in altitude!
